Barwon Dunes House
CloseA home shaped by light, landscape and coastal conditions.
A ‘forever’ home designed to adapt as its family of five changes and grows, Barwon Dunes House celebrates the elements of its beachside location.
The curved form responds to the site’s orientation and neighbouring properties, while generous glazing strengthens the relationship between interior spaces, garden and sky.

Set in Barwon Heads, Barwon Dunes House is a coastal residence designed for relaxed, long-term family living. The home responds to its rugged setting through a balance of durability, material warmth and connection to landscape.

A dramatic double-height living space forms the heart of the home, while a slender steel bridge links the upper level, creating moments of connection and allowing light and coastal breezes to move freely throughout the house.

Designed to evolve alongside the needs of a growing family, the house is shaped by light, landscape and everyday life.

A natural, earthy palette of rammed earth, Australian hardwood timber and limestone flooring creates a grounded materiality throughout the home.

Internally, custom joinery and layered furnishings add warmth and practicality, while filtered natural light creates a relaxed atmosphere throughout.

The result is a home shaped by how and when it chooses to reveal itself.
